Dreams do come true

Posted on Jul 10th, 2008 by Hey_Jude : Growing Toward the Light Hey_Jude
Dreams_come_true
I've had to push myself over the last couple years after my ex left and my parents had just passed on. I was already enrolled in a masters program to become a reading specialist, as I am a teacher. I went to therapy for 6-9 months, then signed on to go to a weekend retreat at Yogaville--a very holistic place. Turns out it was a combination of yoga and life coaching.

I started to investigate coaching while continuing my studies and teaching full time--the structure of all that kept me from falling in to my own pity for too long at a time.

I decided to hire a life coach who specialized in divorce recovery (I was still separated) and that gave me the strength to file for the divorce on my own in order to take back my own life. I also hired a second coach for a while to see the difference in styles and she was female (my first was male).

When I was less than a year away from finishing my masters degree, I felt the time was right to start coach training and to start practicing what I've been learning. Now that I've got my head together (ha/ha--let's say in a better place then in the beginning!) I'm now living my dream of coaching others to find that wisdom, power, and grace are within them already.

I've made a commitment to coach 100 people in the next two years to increase my experience as a professional coach by joining the Experienced Coach Program. This means I need to coach one new person every week for a minimum of thirty minutes.

Would you be willing to let me give you 30 minutes of free coaching?

My one request is that I will need you to fill out an easy 5-minute feedback form to prove I coached you.

After you receive your complimentary 30 minute session and I get your feedback form, you may be interested in additional coaching. If so, I currently hold evening phone sessions by appointment. A few daytime sessions on Friday and weekends may be available.
(Long distance charges may apply depending on your phone package as you usually call into my coaching phone number unless otherwise arranged. I do not have an international phone plan at this time, but I do have skype.

Let's stir the spirit within--all the wisdom, power, and grace are within you to change your life. (c) Jude Eastman 2008

So Here's to all of us and our dreams--with hard work and positive gratitude for what we have now and belief in the future--they will come true.

Your encouragement has been an incredible support and has gotten me through on many a day.

The Effect of Not Doing

Posted on Jul 10th, 2008 by Hey_Jude : Growing Toward the Light Hey_Jude

When We Don't Take Action

Life is sculpted on a moment-to-moment basis. Every one of the thoughts we think, the words we speak, and the actions we take contributes to the complex quality and character of the universe's unfolding. It simply is not possible to be alive without making an impact on the world that surrounds us. Every action taken affects the whole as greatly as every action not taken. And when it comes to making the world a better place, what we choose not to do can be just as important as what we choose to do.

For example, when we neglect to recycle, speak up, vote, or help somebody in immediate need, we are denying ourselves the opportunity to be an agent for positive change. Instead, we are enabling a particular course to continue unchallenged, picking up speed even at it goes along. By holding the belief that our actions don't make much of a difference, we may find that we often tend to forego opportunities for involvement. Alternatively, if we see ourselves as important participants in an ever-evolving world, we may feel more inspired to contribute our unique perspective and gifts to a situation.

It is wise to be somewhat selective about how and where we are using our energy in order to keep ourselves from becoming scattered. Not every cause or action is appropriate for every person. When a situation catches our attention, however, and speaks to our heart, it is important that we honor our impulse to help and take the action that feels right for us. It may be offering a kind word to a friend, giving resources to people in need, or just taking responsibility for our own behavior. By doing what we can, when we can, we add positive energy to our world. And sometimes, it may be our one contribution that makes all the difference.

This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for July 02, 2008:

Knowledge is--I know, therefore I am.  Wisdom is--I am therefore  know.

Life Coach

Posted on Jun 8th, 2008 by Hey_Jude : Growing Toward the Light Hey_Jude

I have begun the journey I started dreaming about and planning for 2 years ago.  After much researching and having 2 life coaches of my own, I have joined the coaching world.  I've become obsessed with tele-conferences, workshops, websites and the like.  I count my cell phone minutes, agonize over whether I need a land line, & which company should I use.  I read forums, take classes, & practice with coaching buddies.  I have coached a few friends and 1 family member.  I am about to take the plunge with the Experienced Coach Program to sharpen my skills by giving free 30 minute sessions in return for a 5 minute survey that needs to be filled out so I can get credit for the session and to give me feedback.

More to come on this soon. Meanwhile checkout my website--and feel free to offer suggestions--what do you like?  What would you like to see different?

"Your life is a sacred journey. And it is about change, growth, discovery, movement, transformation, continuously expanding your vision of what is possible, stretching your soul, learning to see clearly and deeply, listening to your intuition, taking courageous risks, embracing challenges at every step along the way...
And from here, you can only go forward, shaping your life story into a magnificent tale of triumph, of healing, of courage, beauty, wisdom, power, dignity and love."

Vegan pecan pie

Posted on Nov 23rd, 2007 by Hey_Jude : Growing Toward the Light Hey_Jude
My pecan pie experiment was a flop--but how else to learn?  I don't think the agar was the issue, but that I cooked it with the pumkin pie at a length and temperature that was too long and too hot for the sugar.  What I ended up with was solid pecan hard candy!

We put it in plastic bags, smashed it with the cast iron skillet, and ate the crumbles with a spoon.  Unfortunately the hardness/stickiness broke off some enamal on one of my crowns (it was already partly chipped)!  Too funny since I kept telling everyone else not to break their teeth on it!

Lovely dinner.  My daughter brought the baked pear salad out of Vegetarian Times.  Wow! What a lovely surprise.  Her cooking skills have blosoomed, along with her maturity.  She was all about helping me in the kitchen.  Her sig other made a lovely tender bread for the meal, and my son the extrodinary mashed potatoes.

I am blessed to have such a lovely, loving family.  I am thankful that all my needs are met by the one true Source.

I'm back...

OK--so I've been absent from zaads awhile...I'm in a masters program and teaching full time, but checking in now.  Much to do, pies to bake, cleaning for company arriving tomorrow. (daughter and sig other & one son)

Going to try a vegan pecan pie using agar for thickening!  I make a vegan pumpkin pie and the tofurky's defrosting.  Altho I am not vegan, all 3 kids are and I don't have a big stake in murdering another turkey (I can get leftovers from a friend if I really need a meat fix-but it's not the norm).

Looking to make some new friends--people with similar values. Looking forward to reconecting with old Zaads friends too.   I am thankful for the love of family and collegues, for being able to support myself ,and knowing my needs are met  by more than personal human effort.

Sending light and love to all in the community this Thanksgiving season--
Blessings--Jude

Inner Companionship

Posted on Nov 21st, 2007 by Hey_Jude : Growing Toward the Light Hey_Jude

I walk the same path every day
Along a well-worn, friendly way,
And precious memories regain
The stage to sing their sweet refrain.

This quiet time brings healing power
As I let love command the hour;
Then soon I am renewed, made whole-
A resurrection lifts my soul!

Though I have much yet to let go,
Lingering memories must grow.
They need this rendezvous to talk
And share deep longings while I walk.

Dear God, help me that I may live
Less to forget, more to forgive.
May all my thoughts today now find
Companionship in heart and mind!
