New Year's thoughts
May all our lives be filled with simple smiling moments--Jude
From the Tibetan Book of Living and Dying
May I be a protector to those without protection
A leader for those who journey
And a boat, a bridge, a passage
For those desiring the further shore.
May the pain of every living creature
Be completely cleared away
May I be the doctor, the medicine
And may I be the nurse
For all the sick beings in the world
Until everyone is healed.
Just like space
And the great elements such as earth,
May I always support the life
Of all boundless creatures.
And until they pass away from pain
May I also be a source of life
For all the realms of varied beings
That reach unto the ends of space.
- Sogyal Rinpoche
"Happy New Year"
"How do you find peace and happiness in your life? By living a dedicated
life.
"If you make your life a dedicated one, you will have unending peace. To
quote the Bhagavad Gita, ‘Tyagat shantir anantaram.' Only with Tyaga-only by
leading a dedicated life, do you have unending peace. In this New Year, may
you experience peace and joy in your life. Live as good yogis and set
examples for others. Let all others be inspired by your life. Don't use your
words. Things are easily said, but hardly done. Instead, let humanity see in
you the beauty of a living a dedicated life. May God bless you with that
peaceful, joyful life."
"God bless you. Om Shanthi, Shanthi, Shanthi."
"And how you ask are we to walk the spiritual path? We answer: Say little; love much; give all; judge no-one; aspire to all that is pure and good-and keep on keeping on." --White Eagle
